Watching these fellows find a supper lurking beneath the waves is an education in patience, perseverance, and marksmanship. I can readily understand, when they make a substantial catch, why they wait around for the fish to abandon its flipping fits before swallowing. Even so, downing it in one gulp is testimony to an industrial strength digestive tract that in a larger creature like me would be similar to swallowing an automobile tire.

Well, Ed. Don't be intimidated by such thoughts. Just send me a copy when you get around to trying it.
Excellent composition and timing. You're obviously a first class student.
I'd prefer the entire water area a bit darker, and the bird just a tiny bit lighter to accentuate more detail, and I'm amazed at what you have done, without the tools to produce what I suggested.
A beautiful shot.

This is a beautiful shot of this awesome bird. I have grown to love the Pelican they are not easy to capture. Great timing and well done.

Excellent capture. The wave crashing to the shore was great timing.

I have had little luck in photographing moving wildlife, Ed; but this shot is a stunner. It almost looks like you applied a slight watercolor effect to the shot, but that's probably my imagination and a result of moving water and a moving pelican. I agree with Doug about switching up the contrast and lighting a bit. I don't remember what software you use. Could you email me the original? I'd love a shot a this one.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
