This is quite classy and elegant. There is something about it I am not quite sure about though. It might be the centred composition of the necklace or the angle you have shot it at.

Simple, with the potential for elegance. i might try having the pearls in focus, with the surface out of focus. Nice attempt.

The depth of field is shallow, and that could very well be on purpose, but you could have added a touch of sharpness to the foregroud pearls. Pearls are delicate and feminine, and need something soft, like black velvet, to show them to advantage.
The course weave of the upholstery or carpet, detracts from the beauty of the subject. Try this with something soft or delicate.
Even outside, on smooth sand, or leaves. Doesn't necessarily have to be velvet.

Reminds me of those special events i've been to, such as my prom and weddings.
It definitely captures the essence of such moments.

The black faded part in the corner is very affective! The pearls are very elegant and beautiful. The floor is just perfect for this image, lastly freat angle. Can't wait to see more.
