The diagonal image runs out of the corners of the photo, this divides the photo in two almost equal halves. . . I usually try and make one part of the image more dominate. Moving the focal point, where all the line intersect, away from dead center, might help. Also sharpening the "hairy" foreground would have helped.
The picture is good but it lacks of definition of the foliage which needs to be highlighted by using the hue filter in pshop or gimp. If you using Aperture I suggest to use Color Efex in the Foliage functions and increase contrast.
