My hubby and I went hiking through Rainbow Gorge in the Drakensberg Mountains on New Years Day. It was lush green and beautiful and I couldn't resist sharing these strange orange toadstools with my friends on Caedes. Happy New Year Everyone!

Tell me Deborah....did you sit on this 'stool' in the front..and 'posed' like the little pixie that you are?.....Superb shot my love...I cannot tell you what they are...you will have more idea than me.....nicely focused and a great presentation...glad you went for that walk!

I love the shrooms on the log, but I think showing the shroom at the front in such a huge closeup size kind of detracts from the overal photo. One or the other would have been better I think. But the colours of the green moss and the orange shrooms is just lovely...Verena

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
I can tell from your photo Deborah that everything around you on this hike was just so green and I'm sure the plant life was just thriving here from all the moisture. I really like the log here with the mushrooms growing on it. Excellent capture and lighting. Hope you and your husband enjoyed yourselves here and a Happy New Year to you also.
