Red soil and blue spinifex are the predominant colours in this arid landscape in the Gawler Ranges South Australia. When I visited there 2 years ago there had been no rainfall for the previous 8 years.
"No rainfall for the previous 8 years" !!!!
My goodness, I believe on Sahara they get rainfalls more often these days .... LOL
Amazing colours and vastness of space .....

Not many houses....The red rock also reminds me of Sedona Az. I have a few photos in my gallery if you would care to take a look. I would hate for my car to break down here. Very nice job on showing this arid landscape.
Awesome shot Frank, I love the colors and such interesting info about 'no rain for eight years'! I didn't know any place on Earth had that kind of record!
A really beautiful landscape, Frank, and you've captured wonderfully! I love the rich red soil and the terrain in the background that looks almost magenta! Very well done!
Eight years?? I thought Australia has certain months when it rains. Maybe its a different area. Anyway, this is a great shot Frank. I love all the textures and colors in this!

What an extraordinary landscape, very well captured. I like the range of subjects at different distances that the eye alights upon as one looks up and down at the shot. Great work!
I much appreciate all the comments I receive about my images, but please excuse me if I don't always reply. My interest in Caedes is exceeding my time available!
