The lily pond at Hobart's Botanical Gardens was created over 100 years ago when a small stream was dammed to provide a constant water supply to the gardens.
Oh this is an absolutely beautiful place and photo. It reminds me SO much of Monets many water lily paintings. No wonder he loved painting those pictures. This photo should be hanging right next to the Impressionist artists! Something to be very proud of. The colours are magnificent. And the variety of plant life is just beautiful. I would be at this place very often. Would enjoy a framed copy of this. Australia has such beauty. Obviously the weather is perfect for these lovely plants to grow very well. Thank you for posting such a lovely photo. Verena
I can certainly see why Hobart was chosen for your holiday, Frank! This is a grandeur sight! Various lush greens, lily pond, reflections and that quaint little white bridge, are all so gorgeous! Superb clarity and colours too! Superb my friend, and thank you for sharing! :) Faved.
This one is going right on my desktop to remind me that Spring will indeed come to my part of the world...and to remind me of what it looks like! Great capture, lovely detail, very nice! And the landscaper is not bad either!
