I was shooting this chap with my 150 lens then wondered if he would let me change to my 45.. I swapped them over then laid flat on my front overlooking the spot where he was sitting... i got closer and closer then put on my macro filters... Again i went closer and closer , he kept lifting his head watching me. I then went to move a piece of grass that was next to him that was in the way of shot when he took off and landed on my arm... WOW i am still gobsmacked.. I had to shake my arm to get him to move but then he came back... i even rubbed his wing, what an amazing animal to trust me as much as i trusted him. I swear we bonded !!!! Plz enjoy

That is a great story with a beautiful pic to go along with. Impressed that you got such great aim and focus with only one hand!

What cologne did you have on? lol That must have been an exciting few moments. Generally you are lucky if they let you near them long enough to fire off a shot. That's one great capture you got in the process and you must be ambidextrous to have done it. lol I love your new avatar, btw!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Well, he might just be your own personal guardian - it is a sign of good luck when an animal/insect displays this kind of trust. Or perhaps he just liked the way you smelled to him! :0) Either way it's a great post Ian.... ~Mary~

Maybe it was a mosquito in disguise and he was out looking for some dessert!!! I'm glad you told me that was your arm. I was having the darnedest time trying to figure out what part of a body that was!!
