Wow...not only is the nuthatch terrific but that is a very intriguing tree. I would like to know more about this photo. Did the background really look this great or did you manipulate the photo to make it look this good?

Life is a Constant Audition
I Think this photo is a fantastic subject and i love the textures of the tree and the bright colours of the bird. The only real complaint i have with it is the position of the bird. Because the bird is where it is, it appears to be merged with the tree. Waiting for the bird to move into a more desirable position may have improved the picture.

That bird could not have picked a more photogenic location or a more unique posing posture. I really like the way the bird's body follows the contour of the tree's notch. The title emphasizes color, but it think texture is what makes this image so interesting.
