I didn't have my actual camera with me so I had to do with my iPhone. I cropped it a bit above and below.. now I'm uncertain if I should have cropped it at all.

I love the idea of this image and the execution, considering it was taken on an iPhone, is excellent. As for the cropping, I think there are few images straight from the camera that don't benefit from some judicial cropping, so don't worry.

I think the texture of the background material makes it very difficult to provide any real contrast or focus in the shades of gray color.
