It had been cloudy all day and just as the sun was going behind another mountain, the clouds broken enough for some rays to shine down on this very small lake in the Ochoco Mountains of central Oregon.

Unbelievable, was it really cloudy on that day. It doesn't look like. The green is so vivid. As if the photo was taken in springtime... Thank you so much for this refreshing capture.

I like the juxtaposition of the lush forest and the derelict tree trunk...its pictures like this that reminds me why we photographers bother to get out of bed stupidly early in the morning to go for a shoot...Well done...All the best...Mick.

This photo, even from the large thumbnail, looked gorgeous and screamed at me to download it, which of course, I did. The bottom half of the photo is (if you will pardon the pun) picture perfect. I love that log in the foreground. It grabs your attention immediately then points the way to the rest of the photo. The wood is rich in clarity and texture. Then comes the grass laced with beautiful sunshine. The dark green shrubs are sharp and add contrast to the lighter grass. The problem begins with the tree trunks on the left near the top and in the largest spruce on the right all the way to the top. On my monitor they are streaked with purple. Is it my monitor (brand new) or the photo?
None the less, on my desktop it goes.
