This is another in my Southwest series. It was taken from Cleopatra Hill in the middle of the artists colony of Jerome, AZ. The community is spread upward on the hill, with the lowest part visible in the right foreground. Just beyond that to center you can see part of the town of Cottonwood. Just beyond the red roof of the large buildling on the right in the foreground is an orange plain. This is where early indigenous peoples cultivated their crops and at the far right end of that plain is a lighter-colored hill where the ancient community of Tuzigoot, which is now a national moment, was built by the Sinaqua Indians. Although you can't see it, the tourist destination of Sedona is located at the base of the red rocks in the distance. This is an absolutely incredible area to spend time and explore.
