on my nature reserve walk on sunday.came across hundreds of these. this one even let me touch it. another one landed on my head and freaked me out! its a pity i dont have a macro lens yet, but this was taken with d70 and 28-80mm.

Canny shot Gareth!....nearly the same as mine...with the wooden rail for it to 'sit' on!....Shoulda had that shot with the 'Freaked out bit' !...I need a good laff today!

What a nice speciman and you captured it very well. I like the positioning of the dragonfly on the wood with all of it's textures. It seems you don't really need macro lens.

Always remember to dry your flagons after brushing. Very, very impressive shot btw..
