a beautiful white flower i picked and set in an area that i thought would really make it stand out! i keep it in thoughts of an ex that i gave it too! so this picture still gives me hope for all that i had... hope you enjoy this image!??

I think that your focus isn't too bad. It is more your
depth of field. What I mean is that while your stamens, and
lower petals are in focus any other part of your flower that
moves away from that plain is out of focus. My suggestion
is to mount your camera on a tripod and go with a higher
f-stop. F-8 will bring more of the flower into focus and still retain a blurry background. F-22 will give you the most depth
of field but your back will be much sharper as well. Your lighting is uniform. That is good. Your camera angle and
background could use a little work. The background behind the
flower is a little distracting. A more uniform background is more appealing to the eye. I like that you put some thought
into the placement of your flower. Great job!

I agree with the very knowlagable and most helpful suggestions from Garrett.

Garrett did cover it quite well. The lighting is rather flat though, and cloning over much of the distracting surround with the green vegetation and a touch of contrast for the whites adds significant impact to the flower and the appearance of sufficient sharpness throughout.
