I don't have any clue why you don't have any comments. This shot is superb! B&W was a great choice here. It's impossible to tell this is a modern shot and not something from WW2. That Willies Jeep looks like it just came off the assembly line ready for service. The period clothing matches perfect. What's he doing? Unfolding an old shot of a girl back home? Rolling a smoke? Checking his pocket watch? Honestly, I wouldn't mind having this shot on my wall. I'm a history nut anyways. :-) Adding this to my favs because that's the highest compliment I can give!
For in and out, above, about, below,
'Tis nothing but a Magic Shadow-show,
Play'd in a Box whose Candle is the Sun,
Round which we Phantom Figures come and go.

Like cherry79, I am surprised this has not been critiqued more.quite the story-telling photo!-a rare event here and in most venues.I like all about it. I, too, wonder what year, what was occurring? A fave for me.great job....
How appropriate that the building behind the Jeep appears to depict decay and destruction. I agree that this is a remarkable capture and that B & W was a very fine choice. Wonder what the soldier was thinking and as well, what he was doing. Great work.
