I think your idea is wonderful. It's simple and good. The only thing I would suggest is to find a way to make the background pop with some nice colour, even black would be good. It would give this simple photo some elegance. Maybe sharpen the apple just a tad bit. But I love your idea! And I think its very special the way you asked for suggestions so you can become a better photographer. (((hug))) Try some other fruits too. Pears, Green peppers, fruits with texture, such as watermelon, cut into it to show the pink. I think it's so nice that you have a unique idea. Verena
Sounds like your looking for advice from experienced photography artists here like I do also! The picture is clear and crisp....but like Verena said, I believe you need to use a differnt background for such an image. Give it another try and I will look again!
A nice idea. I do have a couple of suggestions. I would have included just a bit more of the apple so you see more curvature. And I would try for more of the apple to be in focus. The focus is a bit soft for my taste. Keep the photos coming!
I like the apple a great deal. It makes me hungry, as a matter of fact. I don't think I could get as focused a shot as you do here, but if the opportunity presented itself I might square the image, add more apple, and have a shorter/smaller background with perhaps a sharp, contrasting color - or even a blurd image behind, such as a window or tree against a bright blue sky, but that's pretty expected. I wouldn't use such a muted color against the background. Here's a funny thought; an apple under water. :)
I think the shot is just about perfect! Maybe more color in the background, but don't spoil the crisp simplicity of the shot by introducing more elements to distract from the apple. I think the way you've cropped it is just right--show enough but not too much. Our imaginations provide the rest. Good job!
