When I went for the BBQ the other week I was trying to get some IR shots, didn`t quite cut it and this is the best of a bad bunch. When I took ths I thought it was perfecly still but a 25 sec exposure tells a different story in the clouds. Critique is very welcome and would be very helpful on this as I have preference for darker shots and I think I might have went a bit far on this?

Thanks.

Well I have no idea what IR even means buddy. It seems too dark in the sky area around the clouds. But it looks like a beautiful place! I'd like to see it in color! You have a great angle too!

This has alot of strength. It captivates.I feel that it needs to be sharper or softer. It falls short somewhere in between.Nice piece.!

I think if you select those dark shadows Ian and lighten them up a tad with levels!...this can be a cracker!...A great subject too...something I have been meaning to try, but ain't...yet!!

nice work pal

Hey Ian, I love the dark as well but in this case it does seem to swallow a lot of detail in large areas of the image. How to get it dark and detailed is beyond me. :) More experimenting I guess, a good excuse for more fun. :)

Hey Ian,
found it in VB - a 10 - great work. I like this IR shot, the nice blurry clouds and the light reflection on the water. Superb.

yay, at last someone else has had a go at ir!
the 25 sec expossure thing can be a pain sometimes as you get blur in the clouds!! luckily i dont have to worry about that one now! :-) this is pretty nice, you have the right elements, a lovely black sky with white fluffy clouds and the green trees and stuff being white, my suggestions would be to lighten it a bit and crop off a little of the dark at the bottom and run it through neat image to remove some of the noise which is pretty much common with ir!! good job chap, im proud of ya!
