A whole flock of Common Redpolls are back here and sure are having a feast on the suet. They are small finches of the arctic tundra and boreal forest.

Captured this other day when it started to snow before the worst part of the storm arrived. We are expecting more of this white stuff tomorrow, boo. If you view in full you can see the snow falling gently at the moment.

I'm so happy with this picture, even if the bird is in the centre and didn't want to crop it at all, looks fantastic on my huge iMac screen. Hope you enjoy the view.

Didn't do much to this picture only to downsize it using iPiccy.com to upload it here.

Thanks so much for your comments, deeply appreciated. Enjoy your day.

Going to be very busy today, it's our Granddaughters 7th Birthday Party, so I'm going to Party On.

It's a wonderful shot Pat - while it could be cropped I don't think it necessarily needed to be cropped - the two branches, vertical and horizontal, make for a nice balance and serve to highlight the bird.

I agree...a fine shot and nicely framed with the branches. This one looks a little chilly.

This is a very nice shot of the bird sitting on the branch and waiting. Sharp focus on the bird and the nice bokeh brings it out nicely.

The Redpoll here is very similar to it's European cousin, jes does it ever stop snowing over there! I couldn't afford to heat my flat this year and loath the winter now. Sorry Skates )o: but I'll not be commenting on any more snow pix.

We don't see these at all...I think it's a northern bird.

I like the details: the lichen and stripped bark on the branch, the colors and markings on the bird, and the bokeh of snow coming down.

The bird almost looks sad or lonely. Nice one!
