I agree, the evening light adds the right atmosphere to the shot. I like the composition of the mountains, and the small branch at the side makes all the difference. well done :)

the sky looks magnificent and the rioting clouds make an excellent contrast with the still water.. and that shadowed area makes a great colour contrast with the rest of the image. i agree, the evening light is fabulous!
i simply love that branch, it fits perfectly with the image! it seems like you pushed aside the branches to make a picture of a mysterious scenery that hadn't been touch by a human hand before.. well done!
this one deserves my highest marks and favourites.. thank you for sharing it with us!

WOW!!! I live close to Kenai Lake, but your picture makes me feel like it's the first time I've seen it! You've imagined to capture the lake in all it's glory :) I think the tree branch sneaking into the picture really adds to the ambiance and gives the picture even more depth. Well done!

This is a most beautiful landscape shot taken in wonderful evening lighting contrasting a passive lake with turbulent clouds. Good composition, lovely mountain and sky colours, like the leaves at the side to add depth. Excellent image, well done and continue at this standard. One for the desktop!!

Oh how many times I've seen this view when I was living in Alaska. It's great when you can catch views like this to share with others. Of course now that I'm in Texas, I'll have to admire them from afar.
