This was photographed in my garden. These Photoshop tricks are not very easy, and I have had only moderate success. After a while I just got tired of fooling with it and thought you all could take a look and tell me what I should have done to make it better the next time. I will appreciate all comments.

I don't know. I think the concept of highliting and brightening the Tulip is pretty cool.
Maby try actually bringing the flower "Outside" the actual framed picture. I've seen that done and it's really cool! Tried it myself a couple times, but nothing worth posting. There are a couple people on here that Really have done that technique extremely well.

Well it is a lovely idea. I think perhaps I would have used the same type of framing and colour, but perhaps blend it more as it seems too bold and it draws your attention away from the main subject!

I think I would prefer it without the frame around the flower, just shown full brightness for the entire photo.

I really like what you've done. The only suggestion I have is that you might want to clone out the white object behind the left-most petal.

I think it looks fine, but I would like to see it all a little brighter. Otherwise, all looks good.

I think it's a good attempt. I don't think the frame colour is appropriate, as it draws too much attention, being a similar colour, but brighter.
It's purely an aesthetic judgement, as I don't even know how to do that, yet.

I love everything except the color of the frame (perhaps just darken it a bit?), other than that Its perfect!

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes =D

it's a bit irritating becaus the leave which is coming out of the frame is in the background.
would have chosen a softer color, to match the tulips better. but apppart from that i'ts nice

A fabulous flower it is indeed, can not remember seeing one before, besided the flower i like the frame you put behind it, it gives it a totaly different look.

How do I make links within my comments? If you'd like to make a hypertext link within a comment that you are going to post, you can use regular HTML code to do so. For example if I was to make a link to asdf.com, I'd write the following in my comment: Go to asdf.com. Note that you have to use the full form of the address including the "http" part.

JoAnn, I think this shot came out perfect. I like how you highlight the flower to make it stand out a lot, it really makes my focus go right to the most important part of the shot, the flower. =]

I think it's a good shot and a neat look with the frame around the flower. The frame is a little bright but I really like this effect. I'm going to have to give it a try.
