Talk about heavy metal; this car is a tank. I wouldn't want to be involved in a fender bender with the BelAir! Another good post from the car show, Laura.

And also in 1957 I completed my training as a cadet on the training ship and was ready to sail the seven seas :) This is a beautiful car and your shot shows it well with all details Laura. Nice lighting too.

I think everyone wanted to own one of those. It was a beauty of a car! Your shot is excellent, Laura. I like the way the sunlight is hitting the side. I even like the powder blue color.

Back then, late 50's our neighbours had one of these in canary yellow. They only used it on special occassions. I doubt theirs was bought on credit :)
You got a great shot of this one Laura. I like the dappled light :)

Rather frightening that I remember well most of the events you mentioned - Sputnik, Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear. I loved Perry Mason and unbelievably I was quite good with the hula hoop ! :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

This is a gorgeous shot, your capture was at a great angle. But my favorite of that time was the Thunderbird. Those were surely the (Good Old Days.)The paint jobs on the cars was so vivid and deep you could see yourself in them. Specially black. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I remember this car so well - My dad was a salesman and got to order a new company car every year in September and in October 1957 we got a BelAir in turquoise and white - more white than turquoise as I remember and I had just gotten a blue hula hoop in July for my birthday! Great memories Laura and in beautiful shape too.
