This is a 1960 Chrysler Town and Country Station Wagon nine (9) passenger luxury hardtop model. This car was photographed at our local farm market. A family of five could live comfortably in the back of this car lol. The two wagons in the background are for hayrides. They will also take you into the fields to pick your own produce for what is in season at the time. The wagons are pulled by a farm tractor and on Friday nights all hayrides are free. Here are a few fun facts about the year 1960: The average cost of new car was $2,600.00. A gallon of gas was 25 cents. A new house cost $12,700.00 - The average income was $5,315.00. For the week of August 1st the number 1 Billboard Hot Hit record was "I'm Sorry" by Brenda Lee. Enjoy!!!!!

A real pink beauty this is Laura - with that sleek streamlined look. I checked on google and it says $1 then is like $8 today. But you won't get that for $20,000 today.

I remember when my parents tossed my sister and I in the back of our station wagon, with pillows and blankets, for a night at the drive-in movies. Good memories and a good photo, Laura.

Memories are made from this one for sure Laura. What it reminds me of is when we would go to the drive in movie, and mom would make a huge paper bag of popcorn, and off we went to the movie. That ride is sure in great pristine shape. tigs=^..^=

I've never seen a car quite like this one - look at those taillights. Great find and great shot, Laura.

I have the same memories as Sandi and Doug about the back of the wagon with blankets, pillows and popcorn at a drive-in movie - aaah the 50's! Sharp looking and in great condition - I'm guessing it is white and there is red car next to it giving off a reflection.

My parents always bought station wagons...mostly Plymouth because a friend of theirs was a dealer. That is a beauty, Laura. I love the big fins especially. Well done.

I don't even have a little red wagon story to share; I feel so left out on the memory side of things. :)
A great capture of the wagon, Laura. Nice clarity and colours in the photo.
