I have no idea what these are called but they were so striking I had to capture them. They were growing in a hedgerow, and seemed to be fuzzier and furrier as they were smaller. If anyone knows what they are I would be very grateful. Thank you for looking.

I do not know either but they are very pretty and it is a great shot of them. Top marks for noticing them.

Very good shot and an excellent title! I think these are Echinops flowers.

I don't know either, but we have something very similar growing this year, and even though I know they must have been there in other years, I've never noticed them before. You got a great composition here with the three flowers, the way they fade from view for DOF, the clarity and the little business activity going on with the bee!!:)

Striking capture of them as well, I've seen these in a shot of Jan's, maybe she'll know what kind they are. I'll get back to you if I find out. Very pretty and well composed.
