The door to the cell seen in Asylum #7. The door has just fallen off the hinges, out into the ward. As you will notice, there is no handle or markings for a handle from the inside of the cell. Privacy was also not an option within the tiny cell either with the bars at the top of the door.

The width of the door is the same as the width of the cell, small.

HAving not seen the actual lunatic cells on this visit, I can only wonder to the size of those if these were for slightly better people.

I don't believe that that door fell of it's hinges on it's own Jo, this must be a regular haunt for glue sniffers, & drug addicts. That's kind of ironic hey ! (o:

You would think it would be wouldnt you, but its the nearby castle in Denbigh that seems to attract that kind of people at night. The hospital doesnt seem to atrract them, but then again its too visited by photographers and teenage kids looking for spooks, and the caretaker that was, so think that the drug users stay away coz of the lack of privacy. The ex caretaker still patrols the grounds looking for intruders, not very regularly but everyone knows about him and his love of calling the poluice for removal orders.

I think you have hit on a great subject with this!...Especially for us photographers!...things like this needs to be brought out into the open, to make others realize just what happened here!...

I cannot believe what people were forced to endure! They come to these places to improve there well being and end up worse than before! You have caught the feeling of this well Jo

That door would be absolutely beautiful if redone and used in a lovely home. Fantastic image Jo
