Playing with my zoom at the zoo. I thought this elephant looked a bit lonely as it was in a stall on its own. I know the blurry bar could be a problem, but I think it just draws you towards the eye......

Arrh how cute an elephant . (o: . I hope the poor little beasty isn't abandoned you know how forgetful zoo keepers can be! I think you made the best of a bad photographic situation, and focused on the eye.

PM me the zoos address Jo, and I'll charge them with abandonment of duty! . )o:

I'm sure it Was lonely... as Elephants are Extremely social Animals! I think your Image is Very powerful in Depicting this, as Not everything is Meant to be Domesticated!

It is a great shot JO showing the sadness in this beautiful creatures eye. I agree with Adam 100% everything is not meant to be domesticated. I am a firm believer that wild life should live wild and free .
I also know that is not always possible. But whenever possible they should be left alone in their own environment . Again great shot JO, and thought provoking for many I hope.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Jo dear,
This is a wonderful capture of a lonely eyed animal [is that English LOL I might be a little tired...]. I agree with Phlossie, Adam and Marsha by all means and in all respects so that I do not repeat !!!!
Our SOB is also right about the apple of my eye, our eyes, his eye [delete as inappropriate LOL]
