Very wintery and still. :) Did you touch it up, jojo?

I like this as usual Joe. Always nice to view your images. A nice setting for a wintery day. Thanks for posting.

What a perfect snow that was...2 inches of heavy wet snowfall that covered the trees, didn't stick to the roads, and melted by lunchtime. I didn't have a camera so thank you for catching this Missouri memory, and sharing it, Joe.

jojo, I like the idea, monochromatic winter with lots of small subtle contrasts. I thik you executed it quite well...the edits and filters had the effects you wanted without making it look artificial. The only other thing is that I think you left a little too much white at the bottom. A bit narrower strip of white would still serve as a "winter base" for the rest of the image without dominating the subtle darker tones of the fence and conifers immediately above. Roughly I'd say crop out about half the white at the bottom. To keep the balance you could also possibly crop it in a bit at the right, perhaps just to the right of the first conifer. Those are minor however, and overall I think it works quite well!

As to the index, I find myself more and more in disagreement with shots that are scoring high, and I'm finding a lot of what I think are really solid photos in the 60's. So if you want a good index score, go shoot an over-saturated sunset with some branches in it. If you want to continue learning more about photography, ignore the index and do more creative experiments like this. Mike

I'm wondering if you did some big changes to make it look so dark under that bit of snow. Or was that really how it looked? ITs almost too perfect..hehe..I love how it looks, so strong and dramatic with feelings of cold....nice work..
