I took this picture from Tolo-tolo Consolacion but the city in the picture is Cebu City. The second most important city in the Philippines. Cebu City used to be an industrial-type city but now IT firms are sprouting everywhere. And in the past few years, we've seen tons of new buildings, and among them is the (if I'm not mistaken) first edge-coaster on top of a building. We've also seen mall expansions, new condominiums, and better police cars. We also just reclaimed some 300 hectare property which according to studies could bring lots of money for the city. The city is also improving the infrastructure to cope with the alarming increase of cars. One of the most popular choice is the Light-railway Transit, but our mayor thinks that it's too costly and time-consuming to build and he thinks his BRT system is better and cheaper. We're also tackling our electricity problem. AS some of you know, the Philippines has 3 major islands, Luzon, VISAYAS and Mindanao. To what I've heard they have surplus electricity in Luzon but in the Visayas, where Cebu City is located, we're just breaking even. But before I forget to mention, Cebu City is one of the richest cities and Cebu Province is the richest province in the Philippines. And our growth rate is higher than that of our national average. And oh yeah! We have tons of beaches. The nice ones are just 2 hours away, depending on the traffic. We also have Malapascua, which is known for its white beaches.
