Taken at Norman's Island in the Exuma region of the Bahamas. The specs of light in the shadows are actually sand grains blowing in the wind for those who noticed them.
Great and Beautiful shot. 10 and in my favorites. great angle . love the color in the sky. and the texture of the sand is wonderful. also beautiful clouds

Excellent shot! The blue sky is so bright against the coral... and how big is that anyway? Looks like it's 10 feet tall, but I guess it can't be more than six inches or so. :)
Glad you all like it so much - I thought it would be interesting from the moment I saw it from far away. It was actually about a foot high. I was wishing I had a true wide-angle lens so I could have come in closer and had more of an imposing feel. Unfortunately without a digital SLR, that wasn't possible. Hopefully that will be coming along soon since I just don't take enough pictures when I'm using film to get the results I want. Thanks to everyone so far!
very nice effect. it really looks like mountains of coral. which im sure it isnt...haha its very very nice. the sea really complements the clouds in this one. i wish i had a oceanic area to photograph! your very lucky.

I love how the rough coral contrasts agains the benign blue, cloudy sky. The coral was a foot high? I love pictures in which the subjects are small but end up looking big. It enters you into another world. Also, i've been to the high plains of southern Bolivia and there are big chunks of actual ocean coral sitting up on the 12,000 ft plains. They are the type that only develope in the ocean. Don't know how they got there. Anyway, excellent photo.
