"A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?" - Kahlil Gibran
Aahh. Kahlil Gibran. One of my favourites, and so very apt to this image.
You have a definite eye for balance / composition. It runs as a thread through all your images. Not to mention a feel for the moment. The near view is nicely counter-balanced by both the distant view and the solid cloud mass. Interestingly my eye is first drawn to the curly cloud mass in mid-line and slightly to the right, and from there drawn forward from the distant view into the near view; a most interesting manner of conveying a story and an impression, and what makes the quote so very apt.
