I had some snow here some week ago... It's long gone now. perhaps it comes back later in some weeks. Winter is otherwise just grey and brown hues down here in South of Sweden. I took my camera for a walk the hour just before the sun was setting. It was pretty tricky light settings so I've waited 'til I got a better monitor until I posted some shots. It was pretty much work just to get the snow white... ^_^ This is one of the shots I like the best.

Good shot, Klas! Looks almost like a freezing little bird instead of a pericarp. =D Does the snow interfere with the ripening?

Awesome, Klas. Reminds me a little of your original Chestnut Shell, now in the dead of winter. Wonderfiul light, composition and color. Kudos!

Thank you for the nice comments.

I really don't know Mary. This species of shrubbery is unknown to me.

Thanks Teresa! :)

I really like the light in this one too Tracy. It's the best shot of that day I think. It's hard to get the depth of color right when you got poor lighting conditons and basically just hues of grey, brownish and white to capture... Allmost all my photos of that day have a bad tint of red or blue... or both. ^_^ It's a nightmare to correct. All my usual tricks fail me whith this series of photos...

Agree with mythica - the subject is wonderfully crisp, and it's beautifully separated from the background. Your hard work was obviously worth while as it looks very natural!

I agree with Si. This is really beautiful Klas. I hope it snows again soon, so you can do more. That's a hint in case you didn't know.
