The shoreline leads the eye all the way to the end of the picture, perhaps a 'lil bit contrast would be better, but hey thats just me, really like it:))

Very moving image but I too would like to see a bit more contrast.

This needs a lot more color and contrast. As it is, it would not make for a very eye catching desktop. Keep shooting. The composition and the lines in the image are good.

I think the somber colors are very fitting for an image of a place with as much significance as the beach at Normandy. Were someone to post a photo of Mt. Suribachi in the Pacific Theater, I would hope that would be in black and white, or very somber colors out of respect for the significance, as well as the loss of lives.
