A shot from July 2008, gently rubbed through the machinery early 2010. I think the title says it all.

Really nice idea ... and shot. :o)

Good compositional balance between that of the foreground 'whiter' blooms and then that of our friend.

Caveats?

Being bold here, hand held shot?

It may be my weary eyes that are seeing some blur and/or motion.

That said, and make no mistake ... I really enjoy your photo here. And ... but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

Thank you for the comment, Purmusic.
The "overexposure" is intentional, and made digitally in Photoshop/Lightroom.
You are correct on the handheld, that unfortunately resulted on the somewhat blurry areas, but added to that; the image is cropped around 25%.
Glad you enjoyed this composition.

I do mostly in nature shots, but like "experimental" manipulation as well. Drop by some time.

Easy enough to see why you shot this, and the basic composition is fine as well. It's just a bit overbalanced, and a minor crop and a bit of cloning to remove some tiny distracting influences
give the main subject much more dominance.Crop the left border in far enough to remove the first full white clump that breaks the border to improve the overall balance. The rest is cloning.
The bright white circle, in from the top left corner can be covered over with the soft, out of focus gray, just to the right of it. The tiny flowers that are all breaking the top right border can be done the same way, and that will focus maximum attention on the prime subject, with good lead-in lines, well balanced and no distracting influences.
Just a couple of seemingly minor alterations, but adding more impact and undisturbed concentration.

Nice shot, what a lovely touch having the ladybird there. Thanks for sharing.

All i can say is great choice for b&w. The color from the beetle gives the main attraction to the viewer.
Well done.
