Nice capture. Seems slightly flat, unfortunately, and slightly awkward horizon. Anyway, look forward to more.

I love BC and this is very typical. But you could really improve this shot by taking it from a more dramatic angle...like puttting the camera about an inch from the water. The resolution is not good and the contrast is also not well done. It looks like a scan from a magazine in fact. If you did take this image, people around here can help you work in improving the quality.

Thank you for all your comments. In reply to +camerahound and ::DigitalFX, I do agree with it seeming a bit flat. As to digital, thanks for all the feedback. I think the fact that you say it looks like it came from a magazine can be looked at as a good thing. It makes me think that my picture would be good enough to be in a magazine in the first place. I am working on improving my quality, and your comments will help. I think that it this case though, it was a shot I took while I was waiting in line to go water skiing. I wasn't really concentrating on all of the photographic elements and I was happily surprised at the turn-out. I think it might seem flat partially because I altered the proportions of the pic to make it fit up with the requirements. What program do you guys use to get the photos up to the right pixel sizes?
Thanks

Ichobson.

I like this shot. Agree that there are things that could be done to increase the dramatic impact. But I understand that it was just a photo on the fly. Most folks use Adobe Photoshop. You could straighten the horizon, crop and alter picture proportions. Many of the users here are happy to help. I am a newbie here and have gotten some very helpful info from the more experienced camerahounds. Keep shooting and posting. Looking forward to seeing your next shots. Good Luck.

Now that is a spot I would like to see! Great shot...there are som blemishes that can be cleaned up very easily. I love the old Beaver aircraft. PM me if you would like the blemishes removed:-)
