That's quite a shot if you were actually limiting the depth of field to 1/4 of an inch, Linda. The absolute center of the Hyacinth is quite sharp, but you do have to view it larger to see the detail.
That's also partly because it could use a tiny bit of Contrast and Gamma/brightness to help separate it from the rest of the out of focus/softened flower.
Also, cropping in from the left border (half the distance to the central petal) will move the whole subject out of center, for better composition and balance.
Just minor things, but the increased impact is significant.
