This is one of the very deep and very wet areas of the Southern Hemisphere. The water is dark due to the Tannis which come from the tress on the mountainsides, and the rainfall is extremely hgh and makes the water salinity a lot less than other areas. Taken on a Cruise around New Zealand in Jan last year. enjoy
