Might be the simplicity, could be the composition (very good, btw) ... that strikes a chord with me on a number of counts.
That said, hope you don't mind ... as I do have a suggestion for you to address the lone caveat I perceive. That of the overexposure resulting from the challenging lighting conditions.
If you have a tripod available, that would be best. Still, I believe what is to follow could be readily accomplished ...
Two shots. One exposed or exposure compensated for the 'indoor' aspect or lighting element ... and then that of another shot, exposure compensated for capturing the outdoor lighting. In particular, the area of the window and looking out and beyond.
Most apt title. And as mentioned above, and most certainly, notwithstanding the lack of 'stuff' within frame ... your composition is a strong element and factor.
