A small, burnished sculpture of mine, of a winged fairy about to take flight. Comments welcome.

Nicely composed, Lesley.

I like you how framed this sculpture within frame. Enough room all around, well placed with respect to the borders.

If I can be bold.. a suggestion.

Lighting.

Not sure if you used your camera's flash or not?

However, and forging ahead.. if possible, some natural lighting might work well/better.

Cut down on the intensity of the light being reflected back (specular highlights). Mitigating any loss of detail/clarity in/on those areas.

If you did use your flash.. you could diffuse it by placing some material (something ** opaque'ish.. nylon, perhaps?) over it while you take your shot.

(** Well, whaddya know? Something else to try.. tissue paper. And there are other ways/methods to diffuse your camera's flash, as well. Google is your friend here.)

Good good colour, and an intriguing sculpture.

Thanks for sharing this 'well-balanced' image with us. :o)

If you stare at an orange juice container because it says, "CONCENTRATE"...you might be a redneck.

purmusic, thanks for the observations/suggestions, on this and other shots. I really appreciate them. The suggestions about diffusing the flash should be helpful. I did shoot this in natural light, near a window, though come to think of it, it might have been getting dark outside!
