Let's call this bird "Songbird"! Good qaulity and detail. I can see the feathers so well. I like the way that you conveyed "wet and dreary day" inot this image with your presentation. I like this little guy. He will look really good on my desktop singing his cheery bird song! Thanks Darryl :~)
He is real? he looks a bit dazed...his eyes do.....he's in a songbird kinda trance eh? I do like the soft feel to this. The colour you used is great too.It fits real well...nicely done for sure!
That’s beautiful Darryl. He looks like he doesn’t quite trust you though, which actually ads interest to the image. Good choice of tone to convey the impression of a dreary day.
Wowww what a marvelous shot.
Never thought a nature picture would or could be that great in b&w.
But this one is just astonishing....this is just perfect in m.h.o.
this one points me in new directions...thanks for that. and 10/10
It is your super tele that makes this image work out so well.
A pity that a branch seems to be in front of the bird. Still, it is amazing how your lens seems to look past that branch.
Nice image!
A beautiful wallpaper Darryl. I like the texture of the main branch and the balance you achieved with the other branches. A little clone out of the branch at the bird's breast would have made me a little more comfortable for the bird. ;) Perhaps it helps the bird reach the high notes though and has not affected my high vote at all. ;)-
Whoah, this has such an incredible mood to it. Was it spring? It looks like early blooms on forsythia. Yet with the haunting muted greys it also looks like doldrums of winter.
Amazing photo and wonderful rework! I have no suggestions what-so-ever, but I do give it a 10, favrorites gallery, and desktop display. I don't think the honors extend much more than that...
I can hear it....its beautiful.....wow, u really got an amazing shot. I love the B&W tones, give it a great touch feeling. Thanks!!!!
My new "the joy of childhood"
Really nice. Love the effect you have created. This must be viewed full size, as I am so impressed with the quality. Fantastic clarity on your subject, good depth ... another element that is quite strong in conveying the 'mood' and 'feeling' of this shot.
For me you have succeeded in recreating the whole forest of trees with your editing. This image is 'big' in my mind. There certainly is a feel of expanse and intimacy at the same time with the subject matter.
Great work.
p.s. And of course, now ... I am curious as to what the original looked like.
I just read one of your comments on an old photo of mine and though to myself... "it's been entirely too long since I saw any of Darryl's work. Do you think maybe he's not posting great photography any more?"
Pfffft. What an idiot I am, of course he's still posting great photography. This is amazing. I remember long ago you told me your secret for adding a soft blur to things without losing the sharpness of the edges, but you must have refined your skills, because wow I'm not acheiving anything like this!
It's great to see some of your stuff again, I'm operating at a largely reduced rate of contribution to the world of photography over the last year but boy can I still appreciate the good stuff when I see it. Keep it up!
