The expression says it all really! This was taken late in the early evening as the sun was setting behind him. I decided to leave the camera flare as I didn't think it really detracted from the image in this case. Looking at this photo later actually made me a little sad to see just how miserable he looked. The emotion displayed by these "animals" is really quite incredible!

A great capture I especially like how the angle the sun is shining really depicts the in your face expression thanks for sharing

They are an amazing animal..... I love gorillas.. and this is a wonderful shot... i agree you do see so many expressions on their faces.. and this one does look so sad... well done

I think you have really captured the majesty of these creatures. Dispite his woeful look you can still feel the powerful strength that these creatures radiate. Apparently 98% of their brains are identical to ours!
