The sunlight came out from between heavy clouds just before I took this and lit up the castle enough to take a picture. (This is probably one of the most photographed places in Ireland!)
if anything this photo has - that is serenity and calmness. i like the juxtaposition of dark clouds and green cliffs. an unusual shot. perhaps, the 9x6 format would be better than the current 6x9 one.
This is astounding composition. The small rock at left balances the larger one at right and closes the left side of the image. The point of land at left center accentuates the horizon and closes the top of the image. These elements allow the massive promontory to be the main event without being the whole image. The rock striations are just icing on the cake, and the "tiny" tower on top of the rock is an ironic figure making us thing of scale and how the grand works of man are dwarfed by nature.
I can't think of any way to improve this image. It's a shame I didn't get to vote on it, because I'd have given it a 10.
Beautifully done! The pastel colours are so soft and fresh.
And the lines in the rock, wow..amazing. Is this near where you live? I would have been a bit afraid standing up so high to take this photo...thank you once again for a very nice shot..verena
