this is the best shot i have to date of this bird. i show him looking east west but when i took the shot he was looking south.

You had me going Mr Delaney with all the directions above. Then it got through my thick head what you were describing. This Nuthatch was perched on the tree upside down. LOL Quite common for this species. Not many birds can or will do this. The Black & White Warbler is the only bird that comes to mind in that regard. Nice shot Mike ... a tad fuzzy in the larger sizes but nevertheless a nice posting.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

I've seen these guys upside down before, but I think he is better presented this way. Pretty colors, nice close-up.
