Cute pose and a nice background. The long narrow branches repeat the stripes on the bird. Shutter speed? I dunno, me. When I take maybe 100 bird pics I might have some idea. :)

Great one Mike. Shutter speed...Im not sure. But the picture I have taken on birds ( not that many ) I have a fast shutter. If the day is sunny and clear maybe around 1000 or faster. It depends on the light outside. This little ones is so quick :D

I'm not sure what your camera settings were so it's hard to comment on the shutter speed. Oddly enough, although you say you used a faster shutter this image seems to have more blur and noise than your other images. I looked through your gallery and you have some absolutely beautiful images. It seems the camera settings got the best of you somehow this time.

Again, I don't know your setting in prior shots but I would stick with whatever settings you used in images like "just us squirrels," "Snow and blue jay," "high hopes," and "Stand Up Female."

You have some wonderful images so keep up the good work.

The bird is the word. Timly shot, good pose.
