i'm sorry for the bg, but i was in a hurry. notice the eye....on the other site they insist you sharpen the eye.

The other site is correct IMO. The eyes are the window to the soul and need to be sharp. If they are the subject has much more life... Good job.

Actually, I like your very blurry backgrounds, but in cases where the background contributes to the understanding of the picture...such as this bird about to peck at the tree, the less than total blur works fine for me. The bird himself is very well done...nice and clear and natural. And the eye is great!

You are getting the focus so much better on your photos, nice one here, and you got the twinkle in the eye. What other site are you referring to?
