I visited with a friend this past weekend who had several kiwi trees on his property. The fruit grows very well in Italy. I finally downloaded Lightroom and used it in tweaking this image. As always, thanks for looking and leaving a comment.

We used to have a farm in Georgia that grew them but a disease that effected oak trees wiped them out. Nice image.

Gorgeous color and clarity on this delicious Kiwifruit Doug.

LOL at Raj up there :) Did you know they were considered a delicacy in ancient China. When I was a child they were known as Chinese Gooseberries. Best way to eat is to cut in half and scoop out the fruit with a spoon - or put slices on steak. Delighted that they grow well in Italy. I believe they are grown commercially in California as well but theirs could never be as good as ours :) The ones in your photo look not quite ripe for eating yet.

They are actually berries. I wonder why they were not named Kiwiberries

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I will vouch for Lyn's comment - whenever I can find NZ kiwis I always choose theirs over California's - much sweeter and more flavorful. Great shot Doug when they turn brown and fuzzy just ship them right over for a taste test!

Kiwi is my favorite fruit. In the winter I eat a huge amount of it. I can only eat kiwi... and be happy! Great photo! Favorite!
