It's the middle of July and it's HOT! ... I thought it might be a nice to post some cooler shots taken in my favorite time of the year ... Autumn. So why don't you join me on a train ride through the Adirondack Region of New York in October. Bear in mind the pictures in this series were all taken on a moving train. No time for the niceties of composition etc. Point and click ... point and click LOL I'm not making excuses because I really think the pictures are worthwhile and a testament to todays digital camera in the shaky hands of an old-timer. Your looking at the "Moose River". I hope this was good idea ... we'll see ...

Actually, quite a wonderful shot! Nice wide view of the river and beautiful Fall color. Did you go all the way up to Canada on this train ride?

Gorgeous shot... and I have the pleasure of living here (Adirondacks) year round... muahahaha! :) It is truly a spectacular place... so for those of you who have never experienced it, plan your trips now... but also plan to stay in a hotel. LOL ;)

It's a nice shot, John. And a great retreat from the big city. I drive down through there myself, looking for Smoosh, but think she's well hidden away. Bring on the rest of the shots.

Hello, my oh my, this is a perfectly splendid shot under any circumstances!! An absolutely gorgeous photo! The framing, the clarity, the depth of field, just everything is done very well! The colors are soft and lovely! This image needs no validation! In addition, the subject is that of a beautiful wall painting, and I see no room for improvement!! How long have you been engaged in this endeavor? I would guess many years? If one has the eye and the propensity for such photography, then that train doesn't need to accommodate you by slowing down, LOL! Fine work and thank you for sharing! Sincerely, Marilyn

Great photo and such awesome fall foliage! Just what I needed today too!!! We travel to the Adirondacks every year in August and have for many, many years. As a matter of fact, we travel through Thendara on our way to Inlet. My wife and I have eaten (and "imbibed") at the Inn just adjacent to the train station. The Ad's are a second home to us! It's nice to know that "smoosh" lives there - now I'm jealous! We live about 200 miles west of there, in the greater Buffalo area.
Thanks for sharing!
