This was an interesting piece to create in Photoshop. I wanted to play with making lush wood textures and jewel-like decorations. I also wanted to figure a nice way to present a panoramic view in a 1600x1200 format. The photo is a scan from a slide I took a while ago. It was taken about 30 miles south of Provo, Utah - looking north. The awesome mountains are the Wasatch Range. During my Junior High and High School years I lived in Provo - and hiked and explored those mountains quite a bit. This particular winter evening, I caught the sun peeking through - lighting them in violets and red. I think they really do look majestic, shrouded with snow and light. Hope you enjoy the desktop. I would very much appreciate any feedback from you. Have a beautiful day! :)

Thanks for your kind words. I scanned the 35mm slide on an Epson Perfection scanner with slide attachment. It came in pretty grainy - so I used Neat Image to remove some of the grain - but that also blurs the picture slightly. I'll have to find a good slide scanner that can do 4000 dpi.

Maaaan- maybe I should transfer. You have much better scenery than I can find here in South Carolina. How's their graduate English program? :-P

Reallllly nice shot

It is beautiful scenery. I was just driving this way again, and it was just as beautiful. Utah is a lovely place, indeed. Thanks for taking time to comment.

Those mountains are awe inspiring you did a fantastic job of capturing that, it would be beautiful without the frame, mind you I'm not complaining about the frame it only adds to the beauty of your work this goes right into my favorites, thanks for sharing your art with us :)
