Another pencil drawing by my daughter, Rachael. (Actually, that's her at the drawing table in the illustration.) We hope you enjoy. Let us know what you think.
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
I have always been impressed with Rachel's sketches and am happy to see more. This one takes the cake though! ;) The idea behind it is so clever. A special view into the mind of an artist presented in a way that you feel you are right there with her. Top it off with a nice clean frame, and you've got a priceless creation here.
Thats sooo amazing!! the concept of this is just great...its an outstanding drawing for sure, and then for you to capture it on a photo..is so good too...congrats to both of you!!
...Rachael...This is very, very good...I'm'n artist too,so I know what I'm talking about... the more you enjoy doing it the more others will be able to see that right away and enjoy it right back... I really love looking at this! Thanks!...have fun...
Wow, Nathan...your daughter is an amazing artist...she has lots of talent and creativity...I love fantasy art...a lot of my work is based on fantasty :D
The composition as a whole is also very good...I love the border and placement, etc...
Well done...top marks to both of you! :)
Nathan - when will your daughter be having her own show? She is truly and amazingly talented. I like the way that you framed it as well. Really nice job. :)
This is just phenomenal! Does she have an illustrator job? I'd like to see more! I'd like to see prints! I'd ideally like to see an oversized coffee table book.
she's a terrific artist - you should post more of her work with your awesome desktoping abilities. I think it's cool how you guys can team up like that...
Thanks all for the wonderful comments. I certainly enjoyed drawinging this picture and it pleases me very much to find that others like it as well. It was one of twenty drawings in a portfolio that won me a full scholarship to the wonderful art school that I am currently enrolled in.
Thanks again,
Rachael
I echo Rachael's (Lokie's) comments. Thanks to all of you for taking time to comment. They made it worth the time to post it. Have a great day, all of you! And to my artist - your family and I send their love to you. We miss you.
Hi Nathan and Rachael, it has all been said by those before me, the only thing I might add, is what an amazing future Rachael has in store for her!!! The pleasure she derives from her work, only she can fully understand and appreciate!! I offer my big 10's to you both! Sincerely, Marilyn
Another very good illustration and I love the subject matter - right up my street! I can see why your daughter's profile says 'graphic artist'. This is very impressive. Much as I like the black-and-white hue, I would love to see some colour examples from this artist.

Hahah Oh my goodness, Mr.Smith you need to hang on her. I have a feeling that she will soon be making enough money with her art to support you & the wife!. Rachael, this is incredible, simply amazing, I hope you never put down your penci,l It's part of you for sure. Perfect image, and I gott'a say your dad's artwork ain't to Shabby either. Your both very, very talented. Keep up the Great Work. 90/10 Thanks for sharing.
I see your daughter is at it again, with another work of art that is truely remarkable. She needs to think about making her art available to the fan club she has started here. When she does, sign me up. 10 by me.

I dont know how i missed this one.... beautiful drawing from Rachel... she is one very talented lady.... your framing compliments it perfectly... well done to both of you...
nm, you have a very talented daughter, there. Rachael, what can I say that hasn't already been said? I love your style of drawing, and your wit and imagination shows quite well in your work. Keep this up, and you could well be right up there with artists like Frank Frazetta, Chris Achilleos, Boris Vallejo, and the Brothers Hildebrandt. I'm just sorry I can't give you a higher score. Btw nm, very nice frame on your part. 10/10 and into my faves.
What a wonderful talent your daughter has ! A true gift from God, in my belief. I can see that you nuture this gift & your daughter, please tell her how very much I enjoyed her work here. This came up in my voting booth today & my only regret is that I could only give this a 10. I really love her whimsical style.

Awesome job! I love all the expressions on such a mixed group. The concept is just funny to think about, but it was carried out marvelously. Congradulate Rachael for me. Also, I loke the way you framed this one. :-)
Not only does the child have a tremendous drawing talent, but she conveys emotion in every stroke of her pencil. I look forward to seeing much more of her work.
Well... I hesitate to say this, but unless there's something in the 29 PMs Caedes tells me I have, you haven't had me banned yet, so... I really like the drawing, but I don't like the framing or background. Except that I do like the woody-looking texture. Sorry. I know most people don't share my views on this...
Excellent. I'm fully for it: the idea, the realization, everything. It's been over 4 years now and I can't help wondering how your daughter's skills have improved since then. (Admittedly I haven't done much more than superficiously browsing so far.)
