This is a six-photo panoramic stitch of the Bingham Canyon Open Pit Copper Mine near Salt Lake City, Utah. I took my family there today to visit the mine. It's quite a sight - over 3/4 of a mile deep, two miles wide - supposedly the largest open pit mining operation in the world. It is easily seen from space. This hole used to be a mountain! The dump trucks you see at the bottom of the pit are each larger than most houses. A man standing next to one of the wheels would be dwarfed by it.

Amazing! To think that God provided us with the no how to do such amazing things. And that he provided us with the resources to do it. The wonders of God's creation never cease to amaze! Makes me wonder if when they finish with this if they could fill it in with water and make a lake or something. Would be pretty amazing.
