It looks like the monolith from 2001 A Space Odyssey, only red. Regardless, it seems to be a portal of some sort and a portal of benefit to the ones traveling through it. The sun and live trees are in it indicating a superior location than that of the barren and stark environment surrounding it. I like this work very much.
