The demonstration of orbiter heat shield repair techniques was the objective of the 7-hour, 11-minute excursion outside Space Shuttle Discovery and the International Space Station. I don't really think there's people in those suits, that's why they have mirrored glass .. just a wire-limbed mannequin, posed appropriately. It would be far too hot in the Los Angeles studio where they shoot these images against a green-screen background.

This photo is so cool! I don't usually use phrases like that but no other word than "awesome" slips into my mind! I think everybody dreamed at least once of being an astronaut. This picture reminded me that so did I :)
