OK – a little out of sync, but this one just cropped up in the media archives from midway through Discovery’s missions and shows the Harmony node in the cargo bay framed by the Canadarm and a very nice cloud filled sky below. Photographed by an Expedition 16 crewmember on the International Space Station while Discovery is docked with the ISS.

Unbelievable detail in this one image especially Phil although both are breathtakingly awesome.. I love the backgrounds. I almost want to ride in a spaceship when I see views like this. (remember, I said almost :)
The work you do to clean these images up and to bring them up to par for the site is incredible and I thank you once again, not only for me, but for all of my grandkids who are learning more about Space from you though pictures.
Thanks for all you do. To my space folder on my harddrive;=)

Thanks Mimi, I did my usual clean ups here including camera distortion corrections, noise reductions etc as well as tinkering with some Tiffen digital filters to bring out colours and contrast by using digital neutral density effects.

Cleanups were well worth it Phil, as you know space discovery and astronomy are close to my heart, thanks for posting this fantastic image.

I used to be an idealist, but I got mugged by reality.
